Lahu women traditionally wear knee-length indigo dresses.  The dresses button on the right, below the arm, and are decorated at the neck and hems with bright cloth, usually a band of yellow and red or green, red, white and black.   For festive occasions, they wear a blouse over the dress, buttoned down the front, highly decorated with cloth butterflies, silver coins, and fringe made from red thread.  This over blouse may be sleeveless, though the sleeveless blouses are always worn over long-sleeved dresses.  These long sleeves are often made of multicolored patchwork.  Some Lahu women wear pants something like culottes, or wear leggings under their dresses.  Since the Lahu do not grow cotton, they trade for raw cotton from other people groups and then weave it into cloth.  They like jewelry, often wearing silver buttons, necklaces, bracelets, earrings and chains.   Woven shoulder bags are often used.  Children often wear highly decorated caps, with red pompons.

Lahu men wear clothing similar to the Viet, but for ceremonial occasions they wear indigo  trousers, with matching tunics, sometimes with embroidered hems.
