        The map below shows where the Muong live in Vietnam (black outline).  A few undoubtedly live in China, Laos, as well as the southern part of Vietnam.  Some refugees now live in the United States.  The majority of the Muong people are located in the following provinces: Hoa Binh, Nghe An, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho, Son La, Thanh Hoa, Vinh Phu, and Yen Bai.
