Nung men usually dress in indigo dyed clothing.  Indigo vests with military collars are a Nung trademark.  Nung women also wear vests, of a five-paneled pattern, with buttons on the right side. The Nung vest is shorter than those worn by the Tay, and trimmed somewhat differently.  Turbans, head scarves, and skirts are often dyed indigo.  Old Nung legends associate the color indigo with the faithful love of a woman who awaits her husband's return from battle. The Nung regard indigo as a symbol of loyalty.  Silver jewelry is worn, often in the form of elaborate necklaces.
