Pathen women traditionally wear blouses and long skirts similar to those worn by the Yao women. Their long skirts are of the wrap-around style. The basic dress is dyed indigo, but all of their clothing is highly embroidered and decorated by colorful cloth appliques. Belts are often long strips of white or indigo cloth. Women use carry baskets to transport goods. Their head covering is often a turban decorated by cloth wrappings that form a thick disk. They often wear matched earrings and necklaces. | |
